1. Since you can't designate your character on the forums, just your account, maybe make an averaged rep/rating that is displayed as part of the user information on a post (below the avatar image and post count rank (corporal, moderator, etc.)) I think that'd be a cool way to recognize more experienced folks within the posting community. Not for special snowflake syndrome, but more for, oh, you've got a lot of experience under your belt, this might be something I want to pay attention to!
2. For non-private profiles, I think it would be cool to have a link in a forum user's profile to check out their toons on Open Raid. I understand this wouldn't necessarily appease everyone, but if you're not marking your profile private, then it's probably not an issue to you. This way, it would promote more forum to raid to forum activity. Meet someone you like on the forums, follow them as a raid leader without that awkward stalkish pm.
Edit: Nevermind on #2. I see now that there's a link on the actual post, but throwing it into the profile might also be beneficial.
Maybe some of these features already exist, or maybe there's something I didn't think of that completely invalidates these points. But just thought about it as I was browsing today.
