The Unfortunate part is you can't fix the fact that people refuse to read the details of the raid they are signing up for. All you can really do is stick to the details which you have laid out. Getting everyone's attention and going over the details before the first boss encounter is the best way, as you stated you do. If someone at that point doesn't like the details because they didn't read them, then they have the choice to stay or leave. As a member of the raid, you also have the choice to down vote them for leaving the raid, mark no opinion, and or leave a comment on the profile page so other members know what happened in that raid. It's also important for those who lead to look at the profiles of every member they select for the raid, and that really helps to decrease the amount of problems.
For those members who start to cause issues, it's real simple when I lead, I just kick you out and move on. If you are in OpenRaid vent and you kick someone, and they continue to cause trouble in the vent channel, just hop up and grab a vent mod and they can solve the problem for the members actions in vent.
Changes are coming, that should help decrease the number of no show's that we have with raid sign ups. You can read that thread here also on the forums, that explains what some of those changes are going to be.
The thing people need to realize, is that we are open to all players to become members and join the community here at OpenRaid. As we keep growing, and the amount of members keeps increasing, we are going to get more and more of what I call the " Unsavory Players" from the gaming community, and there isn't much we can do about that initially. What can be done to weed those type of members out, who like to cause trouble, constantly flaming and harassing other members etc., is pretty simple.
-------------
Use the voting system from raids as it should be used, and give an "accurate" "vote" to each member of the group. Don't just simply go through and mark everyone as great, take the time to do it right.
Use the comment section on the members profile to leave a "short", "accurate", and "friendly" description of how they were in the raid.
Although tempting, do not "flame" the persons profile, or "retaliate" to a comment they leave on their profile page, or your page, after you left an accurate one on their profile. No need to make yourself look bad over a comment.
Report any flaming, harassing, false, belittling, or any other comments or actions that happen here on OpenRaid, and that are considered against the rules and regulations, to the staff of OpenRaid. You can do this by simply submitting one support ticket that describes everything you need to tell us. (Note: There isn't much we can do about issue that occur inside the game, such as loot issues etc, however if an issue of someones conduct is a growing and repeating issue that is affecting other members here on OpenRaid, then we can do something in regards to that)
Simply help us to help you, and if nothing else when unsure of what to do about a situation, you can whisper a mod in chat, visit the support tab in chat, PM a mod, or submit a support ticket. The community is as big a part of helping keep this a good community, as the staff is. Remember we don't get paid to do this, all the staff volunteer their time so that we can use a great site and experience a great community, as we all play ourselves, and to also provide that same thing we expect, to all of you.
