Are you doing anything towards stopping the reputation system abusers?

What do you consider rep abuse?
We monitor reputation very closely, we also have plans in motion to improve the whole user feedback features. Details of this can be found on the forums.

When I read that post of mine now it sounds a bit like a whine, that wasn't intended :) Just was wondering if there's any idea for changing the reputation system? Maybe removing the upvoting/downvoting from people you never even raided with would help? I had been severely downvoted after commenting on a no show. Good for me he had a change of heart afer I ignored him and my comments on his page gow removed :P

We are working on a change/fix for the reputation system and have been posting in the forums for feedback at different stages as the plan moves forward. The 2 posts from Fuggo are in the 'News' section of the forum.

i think the "24/7 pvp" can be considered abuse.

you can signup for an entire week and rake in reputation without even being there

in addition invites are done from vent / vent chat, but 40+ people sign up for each event and are placed on "reserve"

I would say that doing anything about this may be impossible unless there would be a way for OpenRaid to work effectively to see what reputation is going to be valid.
Also on the 24/7 HK farming groups I really do not see this as abuse since they are actually making the runs happen so no one loses anything because of these raids.

That's only because most people rate the leader as exceptional, and everyone else as great.

Yeah, that's not really rep "abuse".
Things* that are not allowed and should be reported-

-Leaders holding loot hostage for rep/comments
-Organizing intentional no-show sign-ups with friends to get "free" rep
-Habitually downvoting anyone with a higher rep than you, regardless of their performance

*This is a partial list

Basically, if you are being rated up or down for any reason other than the rater's honest evaluation of your performance at that event, that is rep abuse.

Things that are hard to police, but I personally don't like:

-Creating 3-4 extremely short bosses (Ony, Maly, OS, etc) as separate events and prioritizing inviting exactly the same people to each

A prepared raid leader probably does deserve more reputation than someone who only has to log in and hit stuff while not standing in the fire. Gear has nothing to do with it. It's pretty sad to hear that you think most raid leaders are abusing reputation. Some of them, Tienlung (US Horde) is one I can think of, are fantastic raid leaders but have dropped off the "charts" completely due to PVP players. There are some excellent people out there who do not abuse reputation and lead quality raids.
The dude abides.
